When did WWII begin?
According to our history books, the "official" beginning of World War II (WWII) was on September 1, 1939, when Germany invaded Poland. This was the beginning of a new type of warfare: Blitzkrieg, or "lightning war."
Although this was the beginning that most text books will tell you, the war goes deeper than that. There is much controversy as to some of the political beginnings of the war and who was behind it.
